2016 – The Year that Was
January 2016 started off quietly but kicked in mid month with a few weddings at the Zoo, a couple of private parties with one stand out 60th birthday where our gold champagne girls were a huge hit. Our body painted Lizard and Cockatoo were out in force roving with all the other performers for Australia Day at docklands and we had the opera singers for the start of each day at The Cadel Evans race down in Geelong.
February saw more of our jazz bands, classical performers, 3-piece bands and DJ’s performing at weddings and private parties. The Lizard and Cockatoo were again in fine form at an event at the Meridian Hotel.
Throughout the year we had multiple Welcome to country and fire ceremonies with didgeridoo and dancers for many national and International Conferences with many events at the MCEC and Museum Victoria.
The Kookaburra was out in force with the Lizard at the AIME opening party this year and then the new Wattle tree was added for the Quest apartments annual event at the Town Hall.
Edna the Echidna was finally completed after much hard work from the creative team and she will be out and about in Jan 2017 with multiple events at Luna Park in Sydney.
Over the year we have worked on many events that come back to us again and again which is always brilliant, this year saw us again with The Block for the open day, HyperX at Pax Aus and many repeat events for Franklin Templeton, SupaGas, Melbourne Airport, Suncorp, Westpac, GHD, Johnson & Johnson and 4 Dimensions to name but a few.
The last few months of the year is always busy with the end year family events at the zoo’s with Santa onsite often with face painters, magicians, fairies and elves, the shared Xmas party and Xmas day for Restaurant Associates.
We finished the year again down in Hobart for the Rolex Village on Constitution Dock for the Rolex Syd-Hobart yacht race which again was a huge success.
2017 kicks off well with the first event on the 6th at Luna Park in Sydney, bring on 2017.
